A halo, a bandana, a pair of wings. Sometimes it only takes a few details to turn a familiar space into a different world.

At Bounce Surfers, Halloween brought those details together against the Gold Coast night. Our photographs move from portraits at the bar to groups beside the illuminated pool, with the city lights behind them. The costumes give each frame its character; the people give it its warmth.

A night told through its people.

The group portrait captures one side of the celebration: friends gathered together, dressed for the occasion and ready for a photograph. The closer frames offer another perspective. Feathered wings, playful makeup and red accessories become small visual signatures of the evening.

For this selection, we have brought the wide view and the individual portrait together. It is a way of remembering both the setting and the personalities that filled it.
